The Donation Will Go Towards The Head Start Program

Scranton, PA October 30, 2017- NET Credit Union donated $10,000 to The Scranton Lackawanna Human Development Agency, an umbrella agency dedicated to serving the needs of economically disadvantaged individuals in Lackawanna, Wayne, Pike, and Susquehanna counties through a variety of programs. The donation will go towards children in the Head Start program.

The Head Start Program began in 1965. Head Start is a child/family-based program that has an overall goal of increasing school readiness of young children in low-income families. These child development programs serve children from birth to age 5, pregnant women and their families.  Children and families are served in home based and center based programs, including partnering school districts and childcare centers throughout the four counties. A sign was recently installed at the Head Start location on Main Avenue in Scranton.
